Our Grade Eight Grammarians' created their Emotional and Conceptual Self-Portraits this month, using Cubism for the arts' canvas. Each side of the cube represents a different side of the artist, inspiring various pieces of art on each side of the canvas.
Students also learned about Pointillism and Post-Impressionism to reflect on and use as part of their artistic design for the project. Using Pointillism, students made small marks on the canvas using different colours that blend from a distance to create the art. With Post-Impressionism, the goal of the art is to evoke emotion in those viewing it.
